Kapai Biscuits (加拜) or Roti Kapai, embody a rich culinary legacy originating in India. These crispy, salty, and fragrant biscuit gained popularity during the importation of plantation workers from India to Malaysia during 1846 to 1932. Workers cherished this biscuit not just as a stomach filing and snack to carry in their pockets during work but also for their delightful taste and aroma. We invented in biscuit in 1950s and today, our Kapai Biscuit has evolved into a more versatile treat. They are commonly paired with a comforting cup of hot coffee, smeared with kaya or butter and even enjoyed alongside with flavourful curries. Embracing its crispy texture and unique flavour, Kapai Biscuit has become choice, especially among the discerning taste buds of the older generation. Some even savour them with a refreshing beer.
